The Making of the Minion

Parker wanted to be a minion for Halloween this year....the costumes that you could purchase just didn't do the trick....so.....we made it to "bee-unique".

I started out with a blown up punching bag for the head...added some paper mache', then added some cardboard for the body....I used Diet Coke cases since there is an overabundance of those at my house! :) Paper mache' was added over the body also.

I painted up everything nice and YeLLoW!!!and lined the inside with some cushy foam. An elastic harness was attached on the inside also to hold the head/body up so that his eyes were looking out of the mouth of the costume.
As the costume progressed, Parker had to be here to "try on" the costume to make sure everything was where it was supposed to be...so far so good...
The shirt was made sort of like a belly shirt, with tight, long sleeves. It was easy for him to get into and out of...then the overalls...I made a pattern out of newspaper (which I think should be the only use for newspaper, too much gossip isn't good for the soul..haha)

The goggle started out as a paper mache ring but was transformed into an awesome, minion goggle, thanks to Tony (the auto body specialist) and a lot of bondo and clear coat! Oh, and the two Harley Davidson clamps that he used to attach the elastic!

I used a paint maker to make the "G" on the bibs...Sewed the buttons on and used velcro to hold everything in place....

Polished off the costume with rubber chemical resistant gloves...slippers covered with thick socks (not pictured) and a Moo Can (also not pictured)

I hope everyone had an awesome and safe Halloween! I know we did!!!
